2021 Hunkman Pinot Noir La Cantera Vineyard

The Hunkman Pinot Noir comes from the same vineyard site as our first 2015 vintage, La Cantera Vineyard - a place nestled in the Chehalem Mountains located in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

This wine has light red fruits on the nose followed by baking spice. The palate consists of strawberries and rhubarb with earthy undertones - and finishes with great acidity.

alcohol: 13.8%
cases produced: 50

What's the story with the Hunkman?

IT STARTED WITH A LATE NIGHT IN COLLEGE AND ENDED WITH AN UNSHAKABLE NICKNAME FROM A BEST FRIEND.

And it became a fitting name for the first release of my passion wine project. This is my way to show you that even the Hunkman, who knows how to be the life of a party, can slow down a bit and geek out over wine.

Tell me more about the wine

The Hunkman is produced by winemaker and dear friend Michael Lundeen. Both the Hunkman 2015 Pinot Noir - a single vintage and Hunkman 2018 Rosé of Pinot Noir, come from La Cantera Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, located in Newberg, Oregon. As many of you know, this region is extra special to my wife and I, and close to where she and her family grew up. And, the wine happens to be grown on land that is managed by our friend John Davidson, owner of Walnut City Wineworks, who I used to work for.

We hope that when you open any bottle of Hunkman, you will recognize that there were many people we admire and appreciate that helped produce such an incredible wine.
